It is hard to imagine that a dog can be so well known and admired by so many people all over the world and that we have had the privilege of owning him from a 12 week old puppy. He is one of those afghans that won right from the start. Thoughts of an 'early star would be first to fade' were unwarranted. He has just gone from strength to strength, winning one major show after another gaining awards in steady progression.

    Kodak is currently being campaigned in the USA by what we call 'THE KODAK TEAM'! Lynn Mercer of  Fox Run Afghans approached us after she judged him at the NSW Specialty with the offer to campaign him in the USA. Kodak was just coming into his peak and we agreed to let him go for a visit. Kodak lives with Lynn and he is now owned by Lynn, Dr Mary-Ann Ambruster-Smith (Duranee) and ourselves. He is handled by Scott Pheil of Wynsyr Afghans and cared for by Bill Pfeffer when he is at Wynsyr. This makes up 'THE KODAK TEAM'.

    Kodak made it to NUMBER 2 MALE afghan in the USA, Number 3 afghan overall and number 3 afghan at All Breeds level for the 2001 American Kennel Club results. This is an amazing achievement considering he has only been campaigned by Scott since April 2001. As far as we are aware, this is the highest ranking by an Australian import in USA. Kodak has won 4 Specialties, an all breeds BIS, over 60 BOB and over 40 Group placements in the USA to give him the above results. He will be staying on in the USA until later this year.The arrival of his first USA babies are now on the ground out of Am Ch Wynsyr Aliance. Exciting times lay ahead.

    Kodak has also excelled as a producer. He has sired some top winning progeny such as SBIS Eng/Aust Ch Gengala Snapshot, Suzie, who has won 21 English CC's and been Top Afghan and equal Top Hound in England, Multi BIS Aust Ch Suliman the Lensman, BIS and R/U SBIS Aust Ch Suliman Zoom on Me, R/U BIS Aust Ch Suliman Sharp Shooter, Royal BIG winner NZ/Aust Ch Khandhu Marco, Aust Ch Khandhu Isola Bella and top producer for Khandhu, Suliman in Focus. He passes on his incredible Showmanship and sound effortless side gait, wonderful front assemblies, long necks and tails.

    I would like to thank Louise Hickie - Gengala and Don Day - Aboukir, for their handling and care of  Kodak on his regular visits to NSW. They both handled him to some of his most prestigious wins and have been most supportive to us. Thanks also to Jim and Mary Hickie. who entrusted Kodak to us and have helped us in so many ways to make Kodak into the showdog he is today.

    I once read a comment about Kodak, "...Kodak has 'IT'. Kodak for sure, ounce for ounce, this boy has the attitude of a king, who knows exactly what he is and combines it with the heart of a lion - he never quits."

    Yes,.... that sums up our Kodak.
